Megachile sculpturalis

Body black with yellowish brown hairs on the thorax, resembling Megachile pseudomonticola at first sight. It nests in bamboo tubes or borings in wood made by cerambycid beetles. Unlike most megachilid bees, it uses resin (of pine, etc.) to build its nest. This species is a frequent user of bamboo traps, filling the nests with resin.
