Body black. Face of female densely covered with reddish brown hairs. End of each gastral segment has a narrow transverse band of white hairs. More than half of the wings are blackish brown with a purple sheen. All species of the genus Coelioxys are cleptoparasites of other bees. This species parasitizes Megachile sculpturalis.
