Head, thorax and first gastral segment mostly black in both sexes; second and later gastral segments dark red. Body entirely with strong punctures. This species is a cleptoparasite (labor parasite) of Megachile sculpturalis: its larvae feed on pollen stored by the host. Eggs and larvae of the host are soon killed by the larvae of the parasite.
