Rhopalum jessonicum

Body black, but posterior portion of second gastral segment brownish, and part of legs yellowish brown. First gastral segment slender and petiolate. Clypeus with silvery-white hairs; its anterior margin with a rectangular projection in female. This species hunts book lice (Psocodea) as prey. The genus Rhopalum has nearly 20 species in Japan, many of which are probaly tube-renters.
