Symmorphus apiciornatus

Body black, with yellow bands on posterior margin of first, second and fourth gastral tergites. Much smaller than Symmorphus foveolatus, with the first gastral segment wider than long which has a deep furrow in the middle. This species hunts larvae of flea weevils (Curculionidae), and frequently nests in thin reed tubes of thatched roofs.
