Stenodynerus tokyanus

Body black with a yellow band on posterior margin of first and second gastral tergites. Propodeum without horizontal portions. In lateral view, the boundary between the anterior vertical and posterior horizontal portions of the first gastral tergite is angulate. This species nests in bamboo tubes, making mud partitions inside. Moth larvae are hunted as food for the larvae. In addition to the mainland subspecies, there is another subspecies in the Izu Islands.
