Body color black, with yellowish brown markings on the gaster. The second gastral segment is conspicuously thicker than the first. The completed nest is equipped with a tube-like entrance. The mother wasp hunts larvae of moths such as Pyralidae, Tortricidae, Noctuidae, etc, and progressively feeds larvae with the prey. In Japan, only females are known, and they reproduces parthenogenetically (thelytoky).
