Ancistrocerus japonicus

Body black, with yellow bands on posterior margin of first and second gastral tergites. Female clypeus with a pair of yellow spots near the tip. The wasps of the genus Ancistrocerus have a transverse ridge on the anterior margin of the first gastral tergite. This species nests in small holes in rock or reed tubes, making mud partitions between cells. They hunt small moth larvae.
