Chalybion japonicum

Whole body metallic blue. It builds mud partitions in the nest and hunts spiders of Theridiidae, Tetragnathidae, etc. Cocoons are blackish brown. Conspicuous white plugs at the nest entrance are made from scrapings of bird droppings or plastered walls.
